Polish Trade Mission in Russia.

Mission Statement.

The main goals of the Polish Trade Mission in Russia are: connecting Polish and Russian businessmen; increasing mutual trade. The Trade Mission pays particular attention to interaction of small and medium business.

The Trade Mission's Goal.

In February 2008, in Moscow, an international trade fair called «FOOD» took place. The Polish Trade Mission wanted to welcome a large group of Polish businessmen and use this opportunity to conduct a wide-ranging meeting between Polish and Russian companies. The purpose was to establish direct links between Polish and Russian business in the field of foodstuffs processing.

How We Helped.

Our company was retained by the Polish Trade Mission. Our purpose was to select a target group of Russian companies potentially interested in contacts with Polish companies. We were to invite this group to the Polish Mission's booth at the fair, and to invite this group to a follow-up business meeting at the Polish Trade Mission's headquarters in Moscow. The Trade Mission was confident in the success of their goals based on our company's twenty-plus-year experience on the Russian marketplace.

Our company successfully completed the stated objectives:

1.We selected a target group of 500 Russian companies which could be interested in establishing business links with Polish companies. We put together a business offer and an invitation for Russian companies' managers to the Polish booth at the fair, and to the followup business meeting at the Trade Mission's headquarters. This document was presented to and approved by our Client, and we proceeded to use it for faxing and emailing the Russian companies from the list.

2.We conducted a followup telemarketing of the target list – conducting invitational business talks with each potentially interested Russian firm. We also sent invitations to company CEOs or their deputies to visit the Trade Mission's booth and the followup business meeting. Interest was evinced from 108 Russian companies; 62 of those participated. Those which refused had their reasons carefully collected and presented in a tabulated, analytical report to the Client. Because the order was made and completed within the period of time one week before the fair, the main reason for refusal was lack of time and pre-existing commitments.

The Results.

The meeting at the Trade Mission's Headquarters was attended by more than 100 Russian businessmen total. After the Trade Mission's head's presentation, the meeting went on in a less formal, more jovial ambiance. The Mission's head, Marek Zelinsky, later opnied that the meeting turned out to be very productive (his letter is enclosed.)

The Trade Mission resolved to continue using the informational and marketing capabilities of our firm in order to create business links between Polish and Russian companies. Please see the reference below.

Our Comments.

Our experience in working with trade missions shows a high level of outcomes conducting targeted business meetings. In general, when a business meeting is well-prepared, it is always the case that businessmen from participating countries find strong business links and business agreements, signing of letters of intent or contracts.
